Meet our Humble Wildcat Band Team
Lisa Brown
Director of Bands
Lisa Brown is currently in her 3rd year as Director of Bands at Humble High School. She is in her 16th year as a band director, and has previously taught as an assistant band director in Humble ISD, Goose Creek CISD, Pasadena ISD, and Calcasieu Parish Schools in Sulphur Louisiana.
Mrs. Brown is a graduate of McNeese State University, where she earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education, and the University of Oklahoma, where she earned her Master's Degree in Flute Performance. While at McNeese, she performed with the McNeese Wind Ensemble, the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, and The Pride of McNeese Marching Band, where she served as drum major for two seasons. While at the University of Oklahoma, Mrs. Brown performed with the OU Symphony Orchestra, the Graduate Woodwind Quintet, Flute Choir, and various ensembles and performance venues.
In her free time, Mrs. Brown enjoys performing with the Houston Pride Band and is an avid cupcake baker and gamer. Mrs. Brown resides in Houston, TX with her husband Jameson, their two dogs, Dorian and London, and their rabbit, Jessica.
Fred Peña
Assistant Band Director
Fred Peña is currently entering his first year of teaching as the Assistant Band Director of Humble High School. He has previously worked at Goose Creek CISD as a percussion technician and student taught at Barbers Hill ISD.
Mr. Peña is a graduate of East Texas A&M University, where he earned his Bachelors degree in Music Education. While at East Texas, he performed in the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, The Pride Marching Band, and the Jazz Band where he served as the principal percussionist. While a member of the Percussion Ensemble, he was able to be a featured performer at the Texas Music Educator Association convention in 2022 and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in 2023. Mr. Peña also performed in the Panimation Steel Band and Afro-Cuban ensembles where he was frequently featured as a soloist.
In 2022, Mr. Peña received second place in the solo snare drum competition at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. He is also a published composer through Wildlight Publications and enjoys composing and arranging music for percussion.
